Is This the Year You Get a Yurt?

Maybe it’s been in the back of your mind for a while now — a quiet idea that keeps circling back. A round space. A place of your own. A way to live closer to the land, or make room for something new. A yurt.
So let me ask you: Is this the year you finally do it?
Whether you're drawn to the yurt for practical reasons or more soulful ones, there’s something about them that just feels... right. They’re strong, beautiful, simple — and they have a way of holding people that square rooms never quite do.
It's what brought me to yurt making. That first time I experienced these spaces and realised that they are not just structures, they are an experience. It led into a journey learning the craft of yurt-making and from there I began to bring them to festivals and events through out Ireland.
Why People Choose Yurts
People come to yurts for all kinds of reasons. Some want a cosy cabin alternative they can actually afford. Others are making space for healing work, creativity, or retreat, and we've this to be an ever increasing attraction for yurt spaces from our customers. Some need a garden room or home office, or a guest space that doesn’t require concrete or planning permission. A few just want to sit under the stars by a wood stove and hear the rain on the canvas. I can tell you, there is nothing quite like the experience of a fire crackling inside a cosy yurt.
What's your vision for a yurt?
They can be:
A peaceful studio or writing space
A backyard sauna or cold plunge shelter
An extra bedroom or glamping stay
A beautiful workspace or therapy room
A movement, meditation, or ceremony space
A full-time off-grid cabin or tiny home
Built for Irish Weather, Made to Last
The yurts we build at Nomad Yurts are designed specifically for Irish conditions — strong timber frames, waterproof fire-retardant canvas, and natural finishes that breathe with the seasons. Whether you want something basic and functional, or a custom-crafted yurt that reflects your own style, we can make it work.
Where to Begin?

No pressure, no push — just clear info from people who builds them by hand and believes in what they offer.
So, is this the year?
You don’t have to figure it all out today. But if you feel that nudge — reach out.
